Shantipuri

Shantipuri Saree is also registered with the Geographical Indications registry in the name of Shantipur in the Nadia district of West Bengal. The saree is crafted using fine cotton yarn in counts ranging from 60 to 100 that is used for both the warp and the weft. The Shantipur saree designs are inspired from Nature and elegantly crafted. Shantipur saree weaving finds its place in the traditional fabrics of Bengal with buti-lined pallus being commonplace while tie-and-dye designs can also be seen with equal popularity.
